Fort Belvoir Deers Office - Fort Belvoir is a military post on the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia. It is a large post that is divided into three main areas: the main post, Davidson Army Airfield and Fort Belvoir North. Located on farmland, and built during World War I, Fort Belvoir originally served as the US Army Engineer Training School. Currently nineteen organizations and various divisions, battalions and commands use Fort Belvoir as their headquarters. You will also see the US Army Prime Power School, Marine detachment, US Army Audit Agency and more. According to the 2010 census, 7,100 people live in the area including the center and more than 51,000 people work there.
Fort Belvoir is 21 miles south of Washington, DC. It is a short distance from major metro suburbs and many other military locations.
