rust military base

Rust Military Base - 00:00 EST - This month's first week of Rust development is complete, and we've had our first look at the upcoming monument on the AUX branch.

The latest souvenir to arrive in Rust is in the presentation phase and ready for the November 4th update! An interesting example is the Promised Land Military Base (or Abandoned Military Base as it is known on map labels). This is an early iteration at this point, and most are subject to change.

Currently, one of these symbols is generated at the default map size (4500). As the name suggests, it only spawns in desert biomes. There appear to be 4 versions of this monument, with slight variations in overall size, all including a new weapon launcher. Around the laptop is a computer module that can view several CCTV cameras.

As you'd expect in Russ Monument, there are loot opportunities and conflicting AI elements. The monument appears to be guarded by more than 10 scholars. They have loot like scientists on oil rigs. There are also several barrels, food crates, wooden crates (about 6) and green military crates (more than 2). Keep in mind that specific amounts of AI and loot may vary from map to map due to the multiple variants.

Now on to the real meat and potatoes of this milestone. Killing scientists and looting some chests is great, but what is this monument actually for? This is where MLRS comes into play. This "multi-launch missile system" allows you to target locations on the map and fire 12 missiles at that target. These missiles can damage people, vehicles, and even bases, so be careful!

Before you go, you'll need a target and some rockets. After firing, wait 10 minutes before firing again (and get a new target in one shot)

Before you can blow up a local base or person, you'll need the necessary supplies to use the MLRS. First, the MLRS sighting module must be installed in the cockpit. Second, you'll need some cannon rockets to load behind the MLRS.

MLRS missiles can now be found in Elite crates (~50%), Bradley crates (~100%), and Heli crates (~5%). Target modules are found in Chinook crates (50%) and locked oil rig crates (25%). Neither can be researched or manufactured, making them a scarce commodity.

Once you've got the materials you need and uploaded, you're ready to throw some junk! To do so, connect MLRS and look for the #SET_TARGET option that appears. Pressing "e" on the designated target will load the map and retro interface. Click to select a target or use WASD to aim.

MLRS can launch missiles based on any target on the map (except safe zone). After hitting the target, the MLRS takes a second or two to rotate in the correct direction. To fire, press "e" on the lever in the cockpit that shows #FIRE_ROCKETS. This launches a randomly charged missile at a designated target. Occasionally, a few missiles will not fire correctly, so not all missiles will be confirmed.

It is difficult to estimate the exact loss statistics of MLRS. Because several rockets land close together with fire, most of the damage done seems to be scattered. Yet he can pull himself up from nearby buildings.

From today's perspective, about 6 rockets seem to destroy a stone wall. 12 Fires may destroy 2x2 stones. As with all things, it's subject to change, and we'll keep it updated here.

So this thing can launch missile launchers anywhere on the map. So how do you protect yourself from the inevitable fires of hell? This is where your good SAM side comes into play. SAM sites automatically respond to all surface-to-air missile fire.

A SAM won't cut it. Two SAMs also block several missiles. But to fully protect yourself from 12 missile attacks, you'll want to set up at least three SAM sites around your base.

Although it looks like a car that can be driven to places, the MLRS is very stable. You can mount it and charge it and launch missiles, but you can't move it anywhere.
